Monofilament wigs are very popular with customers due to their natural appearance. They come in many different styles and types.

Monofilament wigs are some of the best wigs in the market. They have the most natural appearance, and can be made with real human hair or synthetic fibers. They come in different styles, shapes, cuts and colors, and are specifically made to match a client’s skin tone creating the illusion of your own scalp at the crown.

Wigs have been worn through the ages for various purposes. Singers and actors, royalty, court officials and even soldiers used to wear them. The wigs of today are much better than the wigs of that time period. There has been a great deal of advancement now. Wigs today are sported by many artists, actors and anyone who wants to change their look. They are usually worn in different styles and colors that replicate the salon look without actually having to go to a salon, thus saving money and your hair as well. Those who have lost a great deal of hair due to age, illness or medication also wear wigs. Monofilament wigs are very popular due to their natural appearance.

There are many advantages of wearing monofilament wigs.  They are generally made using a fine, lace or gauze-like material that is almost transparent. The hairs are either hand-knotted individually or in small groups into the monofilament area of the wig. Hand-knotting allows the hair to fall more naturally, though it is a labor-intensive method. This is one of the reasons why wigs in monofilament styles are so expensive.

Monofilament wigs come in three different types:
•    Full Monofilament Top: Monofilament top wigs, also known as Mono Top wigs, have a large monofilament area at the top and consist of a fine-mesh material that covers the majority of the crown. The remaining part of the cap is usually machine wefted or hand-tied.
•    Monofilament Crown: These wigs have a small area of monofilament at the crown. The remaining part of the cap is usually machine wefted. This type of monofilament is typically found on styles with full bangs that cover most of the crown area, like bob styles. This is the most affordable type of monofilament wig because the area of monofilament is so small. The remaining part of the wig is usually machine wefted.
•    Monofilament Parts: These wigs have a fixed monofilament part, either placed on the left or right of the crown. Monofilament part wigs create the illusion of natural hair growth at the part line and are more affordable than full monofilament wigs. The remaining part of the wig is usually machine wefted.

Monofilament wigs can also be found combined with different cap constructions. For example, a monofilament top can be combined with a lace front to create a completely natural top and hairline. Clearly, the monofilament wigs that consist only of the monofilament parts or crowns are the cheapest versions. This is because only a small section of the wig, either the left or right part or a small circular area of the cap is made of the monofilament material. All three types give a natural appearance, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Monofilament wigs are available in every color, length and style and look so natural no one will know you are wearing a wig.

I recently got into wigs. I'm surprised more girls don't talk about them. They are so easy to wear - and great for bad hair days. And when you wear the good ones - no one can tell! I want to help others with information, and I'm always looking for more wigs!
